What is Corps Security?

Corps Security is the trading name of The Corps of Commissionaires Management Limited.

The word ‘Corps’ means either a large formation or an administration grouping of troops within an armed force. It was chosen by our founder, Capt Sir Edward Walter, because he saw it as an appropriate symbol for the disciplined and unique body he had decided to form.

The word is French in origin and comes from the Latin word corpus meaning ‘body’. It is still used by a number of military organisations around the world today. The ‘p’ and ‘s’ of ‘Corps’ are silent so it should be pronounced ‘core’.
