CORPS SECURITY TAKE ON THE MARINES
Corps Security, one of the UK’s premier suppliers of security and support services, is delighted to
become the Civilian Guard Force providers, supplying security officers on each of the six Royal
Marine Commando establishments in the South West. Corps Security took on the contract at midnight
on 31 October 2009.
Over 140 Corps Security staff will be deployed to provide gate security, pass issue, vehicle search
and patrol duties (both foot patrols and CCTV sweeps). They will work closely with the ever-present
military guards within each of the Royal Marines and Army Commando Barracks to ensure that the
integrity of each establishment is maintained at all times.
Corps Security personnel will deliver these services with a fresh and operationally lead approach,
adding new resources to the contract, such as security search dogs and extended mobile patrols.
Gary Broad, Corps Security Chief Operating Officer, is delighted with the appointment and confirmed:
“This is a major success for Corps Security and we will work tirelessly to ensure that the contract
is supported in the most professional manner. We very much look forward to working with the other
security agencies at each of the locations.”
Corps Security is proud of its heritage, which contains many links with the British Armed Forces -
the Royal Marines in particular. Our President, Lieutenant General Sir Henry Beverley, was Commandant
General Royal Marines from 1990 to 1994. Sir Henry will maintain a keen interest in this contract
and looks forward to visiting the sites in due course.
